What is NCQA?

2011 PCMH Recognized Practice Seal
Senders Pediatrics is one of the only pediatric offices in the Northeast Ohio area to be certified by the National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA) as a 2011 Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH).  To earn NCQA recognition, practices must meet rigorous standards for addressing patient needs. That means offering access afterhours and online so patients get care where and when they need it. PCMH’s get to know patients in long-term partnerships, rather than hurried, sporadic visits. They make treatment decisions together with patients based on individual preferences. They help patients become better engaged in their own healthy behaviors and healthcare. Everyone in the practice – from clinicians to front desk staff – works as a team to coordinate care between our team, outside providers and community resources. This maximizes efficiency by ensuring that highly-trained clinicians are not doing tasks lower level staff can do. They also avoid costly and preventable complications and emergencies by focusing on prevention and managing chronic conditions.  We are excited to partner with you, our patients and their families, as we move forward on this exciting new path.

We have been recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) as a Patient-Centered Medical Home. NCQA is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. “The NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home is a model of 21st century primary care that combines access, teamwork and technology to deliver quality care and improve health”, said NCQA President Margaret E. O’Kane. “NCQA’s PCMH 2011 Recognition shows that Senders Pediatrics has tools, systems and resources to provide their patients with the right care at the right time.”
