Lactation Services

Extraordinary Breastfeeding Support

One of our extraordinary services is our breastfeeding support for mothers.  We are one of the only pediatric practice in the Cleveland area with onsite lactation consultants.  Our certified lactation consultants have many years of experience in helping nursing mothers have a successful breastfeeding experience.

For the New Breastfeeding Mother

For new mothers, our lactation consultants will see you and your newborn one or two days after hospital discharge.  This comprehensive visit is held in our lactation rooms where our lactation consultants will insure your child is latching well, in proper positioning and any pain is minimized.  We can also get insight to how much the child takes by weighing him or her before and after nursing, new mothers find this visit very helpful.  Our lactation consultants can see you once or several times depending on you and your child’s needs.

For the Experienced Breastfeeding Mother

Also for mothers who have been nursing for some time, our lactation consultants can meet with you at any time to address concerns that may arise.  Many mothers utilize our lactation services for issues such as breast pain, latching difficulty, milk supply concerns and return to work planning.

PREP+ Breastfeeding Support Group

Sam Walters, MPH leads our Breastfeeding Support Group, geared towards mom’s who are returning to work. Each week the group focuses on a different topic. Along with the in-person groups, we also have a Facebook component so mom’s will continue to connect after the group sessions.
