Normal Newborn Services
If your child is born at University Hospitals or Hillcrest Hospital, and we are identified as your physicians, our answering service will be informed and your child will be seen by one of the pediatricians in our group the following morning. If there is a problem with your newborn, one of our doctors will be in touch with the hospital-based physicians until the problem is resolved. Rounds are made from 7 to 9:30 a.m. and when possible, we will examine your child in your room. For first-born children, our goal at these hospital visits is to help you make the special transition from a “couple” to a “family”. Following the birth of all children, however, we are as interested in communicating the “art of parenting” as we are the “science of parenting”. All questions are welcome.
